ALIFE2 Update
![]() I last published WELS Lutherans for Life E-News* in December 2013. It's a long time to have been without an update(and away from your Inbox). Still, I hope you'll stay a subscriber.
Before I go any further, major thanks are in order. A big “THANK YOU” to:
Also, tremendous thanks to Antioch Foundation for a generous grant to provide abstinence education to area Lutheran schools. Rachel, the Healthy Choices Director, has been very busy talking with students 4 schools already and spoken to more than 350 students. She’s received a lot of great responses to her presentations. Contact her if you’d like her to come to your school. |

CLIENT SERVICES UPDATE:
We’re busy at Associated Pregnancy Services...
We’re busy at Associated Pregnancy Services...
- The helpline rings regularly with calls for abortion. Last year we received more than 270 abortion-minded calls. During this month alone (March), we have received 43 abortion inquiries. Today, we heard from 4 callers seeking abortion. One of them was a guy seeking info for his girlfriend, and another caller seemed angry when told we do not make abortion referrals, saying she needed an abortion immediately. With every caller, we do our best to talk to them about their situation, and to help them see options.
- Today a woman came to inquire about the abortion pill. Our volunteer counselor gave her all the facts, and told her about her own deep regret for a long-ago abortion. This client decided on the spot and stated, “I’m not doing that!”
- A woman who came in for diapers today admitted she is still bothered by a past abortion and a miscarriage. The counselor assured her of her forgiveness through Jesus, and invited her to return for our post-abortion Bible study/support group.
- Yesterday, a mother brought her daughter in for a pregnancy consultation. The teen was considering abortion because the pregnancy was the result of date rape. Our counselor gathered information about adoption as well as legal aspects of the situation, offering emotional and spiritual support as they worked through this crisis.
OFFICE UPDATE:
Lots of things are happening...
Lots of things are happening...
- We have new signs on the front of our building since the beginning of January. The signs say "Women Have Choices". They have been responsible for bringing in more clients.
- We started the year off short staffed. Our part-time administrative assistant resigned in the beginning of December. Beth H. was hired in the beginning of March. If you call the office there's a good chance she may answer. Please welcome her to WELS Lutherans for Life.
- We’re busy converting to a new data-base. If you have any personal information updates, please let us know. You can call the office at 414-727-8176 or email Contact@ALife2.com. We appreciate your help and patience during this transition.
- We are updating our client website pregnancy-counseling.com to be more effective in reaching our main target market, namely: abortion minded mothers. The more mothers and fathers we can talk to who are considering abortion, the more effective we can be in saving the lives of babies, transforming at-risk families to thriving and being ready to do it all again tomorrow.
This work requires your investment in Life for now and in eternity. Thanks for your partnership in this vital life-saving ministry.
